About the Library

The Library at Dixons City Academy has always been regarded as central to everything that goes on in the Academy and is seen as a vital part of the learning process. It is staffed by a team of four: the Information Services Manager, a qualified Assistant Librarian and two Library Assistants.

Refurbished in 2007, it provides a large, attractive and welcoming area at the heart of the Academy campus. It currently holds a stock of over 20,000 items, including books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers and periodicals.

The Library is well used by students and staff. It is open before and after school and throughout the school day. It is used by whole classes, small groups and individuals for research, reading and homework. A Homework Club and a Reading Club are held in the Library after school.
